I want everyone to be able to read and enjoy this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.
Standard
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. It is partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard, and the known exceptions are listed below.
What has been done
- Text and interface colours meet WCAG contrast ratios.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- The “Read the first chapter” reader can be opened, navigated and closed with the keyboard (Escape closes it).
- Images that convey information have text descriptions.
- Form fields have visible labels and support browser autofill.
- Short stories with audio narration are also available as full text.
Known limitations
- Some decorative background images and slideshow images do not have text descriptions; the information they accompany is always provided as text.
- The site uses third-party components (the WordPress theme and form plugin) that are not fully under my control. I check them when they are updated.
