David Meredith writes thrillers and short fiction that challenge our perceptions of normal.
His thriller, Diavolessa: The Cost of the Cause, follows Ariana Stewart: CEO of a billion-dollar investment firm, devoted mother, and the ruthless assassin known as the Diavolessa. Her story moves from Rome through the South of France to New York and the jungles of Colombia.
His short fiction explores love, relationships and the human condition. In 2025, two of his stories were finalists in the Florida Writers Association’s Royal Palm Literary Awards: the short story The Weight of Bread and the flash fiction The Girl Who Saved Me.
David has traveled extensively, including to Rwanda, Namibia, Rishikesh, Varanasi, Santiago, Cassis and Colombia, and those places become the settings for his stories. Amazingly, he has only been held up at the wrong end of an assault rifle twice so far.
He is also co-author of two upcoming practical guides: The Story Connection, with Ariana Meredith, on using story to lead and communicate at work; and Grit & Garnish, with Oni Clark, on building and running a successful restaurant.
