Love and business

Hello you!

I started work when I was twelve years old, and I loved it.  Was it legal? No.  Did it pay well?  Absolutely not.  But, for the first time, I got to establish a sense of freedom by having my own money to spend, I got to experience new things, and I got to act with a sense of purpose.

Since then, I have been lucky enough to work (sometimes) in jobs that I’ve loved.  I’ve loved learning new things; I’ve loved working with new teams; and I’ve loved being able to work with people who aren’t afraid of love.

One, very wise leader said to me recently, that her mission was to “Bring people to our business that get to work with people they love to work with, doing work they love to do.”

It doesn’t get much better than that.  Or, does it?

I guess I’m about to find out.  I have the privilege of being able to collaborate on two new creative works with people I love.  The Business Storyteller’s Guide will be written with my daughter, Ariana.  And I am working on an early stage book on being an effective leader with my other daughter, Oni.

Wish us luck!

David.
