I am delighted that both of my 2025 entries into the Florida Royal Palm Literary awards have been accepted as finalists in their respective categories of short fiction and flash fiction. This prestigious writing competition recognizes extraordinary writing in 20+ genre categories for adults and 5 for youth and provides objective and constructive written assessments to all entrants.
My entries are:
The weight of bread – a short story chronicling the descent into drug addiction and the journey towards redemption.
The girl who saved me – flash fiction exploring the defining moment as a father faces his worst fear.
The final outcome of the competition will be announced in mid-October. Until then, please keep your fingers crossed and your pencils sharp.
